How to Get a NOC Letter from Your Employer in the UAE
A No Objection Certificate (NOC) is a short letter in which your UAE employer or sponsor states they have no objection to you doing something specific — taking a new job, applying for a work permit or family visa, travelling, getting a bank loan, or a driving licence. Two letters are involved, and this page has both: the request you send HR to ask for one, and the company NOC itself — the letter your employer issues on letterhead and addresses to the authority (the RTA, a bank, an embassy, or MOHRE).

[Date] To: [Employer / HR Manager], [Company Name] Subject: Request for a No Objection Certificate Dear [Addressee / HR Manager], I am writing to request a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the purpose of [purpose, e.g. applying for a UAE driving licence]. I have been employed with [Company Name] as a [Job Title] since [Start Date], and my Emirates ID number is [Emirates ID Number]. [Company Name] has no objection to [him/her] [purpose, e.g. obtaining a UAE driving licence / applying for a work permit / travelling abroad from [date] to [date] / sponsoring a family visa]. This certificate is issued at the request of the employee for submission to [Authority] and does not constitute any financial or legal liability on [Company Name]. - Printed on company letterhead — most UAE authorities will not accept a NOC on plain paper
- A reference number and the issue date near the top, so the authority can verify it
- The employee’s full name exactly as it appears on the Emirates ID and passport
- A single, explicit statement of what the company does not object to — vague wording gets rejected
- The specific authority named in the address line, not just “To Whom It May Concern”, wherever possible
- A non-liability line, an authorised signatory, and the company stamp
What to include
- The current date and a clear subject line referring to the NOC request
- Your full name, job title, and start date with the company
- Your Emirates ID number and any reference the authority will need
- The specific purpose of the NOC (e.g. driving licence, family visa, bank loan, study)
- The exact addressee or authority the letter should be addressed to (e.g. RTA, your bank, an embassy)
- A polite request for the letter on company letterhead with the official stamp
What happens next
- 1Your HR or line manager reviews the request and confirms your employment details.
- 2Issuing a NOC is at the employer’s discretion, so timelines and wording can vary.
- 3If approved, the employer usually addresses the letter to the specific authority you named (e.g. RTA, a bank, or an embassy).
- 4Many authorities expect the NOC on company letterhead and stamped, so check the requirement before submitting.
- 5Keep a copy for your records and confirm the authority has received the original.
