What a tracked send is
You write the letter, we send it on your behalf, and we tell you what happened to it. This page is what you are buying, in full, including what it does not do.
What happens, step by step
- 1
You write it and approve it
Nothing leaves until you have read the letter and pressed send. We never send on your behalf without that.
- 2
We send it from our own domain
It arrives as “Your Name via CraftMyLetter”, from an address we control and keep in good standing. Your own email address is not in the message unless you ask us to copy you.
- 3
We record what the provider tells us
Delivered when their mail server accepts it. Opened if their mail client loads the images. Both appear on the matter's timeline with the time they happened.
- 4
Their reply comes back to the matter
The letter carries a reply address that belongs to that matter. Their answer lands there, we email you, and we summarise it in your language.

What the recipient sees
A normal email with your letter in the body and a PDF attached, from your name via our domain, with a reply address that routes back to your matter. At the bottom there is one line telling them the letter was sent through CraftMyLetter and a link to report misuse. Nothing else — no branding on your letter, no marketing, and they are never added to any list.

What “tracked” means, and what it does not
It means we can tell you the message was sent, that their mail server accepted it, and — when their mail client loads images — that it was opened.
It does not mean somebody read it, agreed with it, or has to answer. An open is a good sign and not proof: some clients block images and some load them with nobody looking. There is no signature and no legal service of process.
Certified mail, in the United States, is the one that carries a signature and a delivery record. It is a separate option and it is described on its own page. What certified mail is

What it costs
The draft is free. A tracked send is $4.99 — one letter, one send. If the address bounces, correct it and send again at no cost. Ninety days of follow-through on one matter is $14.99.
What we never do
- We never give legal advice, and we are not a law firm.
- We never file anything on your behalf or act as your representative.
- We never promise an outcome, and nothing here says what the law requires or what a court would do.
- We never market to the person you wrote to, and we never add them to a list.
- We never send anything without your approval.
Questions
- Can the recipient see my email address?
- No, unless you tick the box to copy yourself. The letter goes from our domain with a reply address belonging to the matter.
- What if they reply from a different address?
- If they reply to the letter it lands in the matter whatever address it comes from. If they write to you separately, forward it — you can upload what you received and we will read it into the matter.
- What if nobody replies?
- On the date you set, we draft the next letter and email you to read it. You change what you want and send it, or you do not. Nothing goes out on its own.
- Can I get a refund?
- The site's 30-day money-back guarantee applies. A send that never left is refunded; one that went out and was delivered is not, whatever the recipient did.
CraftMyLetter writes letters and sends them. This is not legal advice, and we are not a law firm.
